Recipe #19: Cajun Shrimp Boil
INGREDIENTS
For the boil:
- 4 tablespoons Old Bay Seasoning
- 1 bag baby potatoes (if they are not too small then cut into halves)
- 2 corn (cut into 2-inch pieces)
- 4 sausages, cut into pieces (aidells or any other brand)
- 1 lb shrimp, deveined and cleaned
For the butter
- 6 tbsp butter, melted (adjust salt if salted)
- 1 1/2 tablespoons Cajun seasoning (McCormick)
- 1 tbsp chopped parsley, for garnishing
Cajun seasoning (in case you cannot get the above mentioned seasoning- make this batch and save the rest for later)
3 tbsp paprika (smoked paprika works too)
2 tbsp salt
2 tbsp garlic powder
1 tbsp ground black pepper
1 tbsp ground white pepper
1 tbsp onion powder
1 tbsp dried oregano
1 tbsp cayenne
1/2 tbsp dried thyme (optional)
METHOD
- Bring a big pot of water to boil. Add old Bay seasoning to the water.
- Add baby potatoes and allow to boil for 5 mins. Then add corn and boil for another 5 mins.
- Add sausages and shrimp and allow to cook for 10 mins. drain water.
- Mix well with Cajun butter and serve.
