Project #35: Cardboard Box Car

This project was fun to make and lasted 6 months. It works as both an interactive toy or can be used as storage.

Things you need
1 Cardboard Box (bigger the better)
Packaging Tape
Marker or Chalk Pen
5 Paper Plates
5 sets of Nuts and bolts (I used ones from my daughter's playset)
Paint and paintbrush (optional)

METHOD:

Step 1: CUT out the windshield (green), the windows (marked in blue), the edges in the side (marked in yellow) and remove the back flip (marked in red) as shown in the image below. In the spare piece of cardboard from the corner cutout the rear mirrors.

Step 2: TAPE the sides (as shown below). You could use the spare cut outs as a roof and rear view mirrors.

Step 3: Fix the paper plates as wheels using a nut and bolt.

Step 4: DRAW in details: door handles, headlights, side mirror, etc.

Step 5: PAINT the car with your choice of color. This step is entirely optional. My daughter had an amazing time painting it with my mom. Also they can decorate and add stickers.
