Project #13: Laces on socks

Girls in white dresses with blue satin sashes, 

Snowflakes that fall on my nose and eye lashes, 

Silver white winters that melt into Spring..

These are a few of my favorite things.. and so are laces on socks.

My sister and I used to wear laced socks all the time as kids. My grandmother and mother made sure of that. We had the lace perfectly match each dress. 

Now with a 16 month old of my own, I am realizing these lace socks are a rare thing with limited color choices. So I simply decided to upgrade the tiny socks I had. 

Step 1: Do a loose chain stitch around the rim of the sock. It is important to keep them loose otherwise the socks will not stretch.

Step 2: Crochet in circles into the chain.
